This interactive movie theme park is set on 49 acres within the resort island of Sentosa, a short 40 minute taxi drive from Johor's city center. The Universal Studios Singapore park has been open since 2010 and has seen millions of visitors since that time.

Whether you're looking to visit an interactive movie set based on your classic movie favorites like Transformers or Madagascar, television hits like Seasame Street or Battlestar Galactica, or would like to catch a movie or television-inspired stage show or parade; Universal Studios at Sentosa Resort has all that and more.

Universal Studios Themed Areas

The park has 7 distinctively themed areas where all the magic takes place, making for a truly inspiring experience for everyone who visits; regardless of what types of Hollywood productions you prefer.

Here's a rundown list of the park's 4 main attraction areas:

1. Hollywood Area

This area is built to represent Hollywood Boulevard, but mainly filled with shops and restaurants including “Mel's Drive In” from the movie American Graffiti, and the Celebrity Cafe and Bakery with a Starbucks outlet inside.

Make sure to take a seat at the 1,500 seat Pantages Hollywood Theater to catch daily plays, shows, musicals and other performances.

2. New York

The New York section of the park represents post-modern New York in all her glory.

This area features a live action soundstage show hosted by Steven Spielberg, traditional New York street food including pizza and grille cuisine, and an interactive Sesame Street inspired live show that gets the whole audience involved in a special space mission.

3. Sci Fi City

Sci Fi City is where all the real fun starts for guests of all ages. There are a few retail outlets where you can pick up movie memorabilia from movies like Transformers and other sci fi selections.

However, Sci Fi City is all about the rides. Roller-coasters and spinning accelerator rides dot this area. Once you're done here, you're still only half-way through the park.

4. Ancient Egypt

The main draw to the Ancient Egypt area is the fun and exciting enclosed Revenge of the Mummy roller-coaster ride that twists and turns through caves and caverns inspired by the movie of the same name.

There's also an educational leisure car ride through a mock-up of a traditional Egyptian excavation site, along with outlets where you can buy ancient Egyptian replica items and fill up on middle-eastern cuisine if that's your flavor.

Additional Attractions

If you're traveling with children, Universal Studios Singapore also offers plenty of kid-themed Hollywood excitement in 3 dedicated child-friendly sections of the park:

  1. The Lost World: Features a Jurassic Park inspired roller-coaster ride; plenty of other dinosaur rides, shows and souvenir shops; and a Waterworld movie stage show.
  2. Madagascar: Take your kids on a journey through the fictional movie world of Madagascar. Rides, shows, and a restaurant ran by Gloria the Hippo from the movie are in this area.
  3. Far Far Away: Features the 40-meter tall Far Far Away Castle from the movie Shrek, along with other rides and attractions from the movie, and a Puss and Boots roller coaster ride.
