1. Legoland Malaysia

Legoland is by far the best attraction to spend a day or two at with your children when visiting JB. Everything a child 12 and under would want to do and see is contained within this, the largest attraction in all of Malaysia.

There are two sections of the park. The theme park includes rides, activities, food vendors and other attractions. The water park is also on site, with a variety of waterslides and water activities to help kids and parents cool off after spending a day under the hot Malaysian sun.

2. Sanrio Hello Kitty Town

Located in the Puteri Harbor marina area, Sanrio Hello Kitty Town is a go-to destination for any parent looking for a respite for their energetic kids to unwind and have some fun at.

Kids can enjoy seeing their favorite Helly Kitty characters, ride the teacup rides, and enjoy a host of other activities.

3. Angry Birds Activity Park

The Angry Birds activity park is located on the 3rd floor of the newly renovated Komtar JBCC Mall. The entire area is dedicated to everything Angry Birds.

There's a life-sized Big Red toy attached to a large pole that kids can push with all their might to see how fast they can make the bird fly in circles. There are also a number of other activities including a large nest they can climb into and watch Angry Bird's videos, quadricycles to ride, and other Angry Birds related activities.

4. Danga Bay

Just a short drive from Johor's city center is Danga Bay. Danga Bay has everything kids will need for a great afternoon and/or evening of entertainment.

Jump on the Tram ride and take a tour of the entire area first, before heading to the theme park to ride the mini roller coasters, merry-go-round, carousels and up to 20 other rides. Make sure to visit the RC race car track and if your children enjoy skateboarding, there's a skateboard park nearby too. Next, rent bicycles for everyone as the heat of the day starts to wind down and enjoy a sunset on the Bay.

5. Universal Studios Singapore

Some parents might argue that a day at Universal Studios Singapore is quite possibly the best way to spend a day with their kids. This place is fun for parents and kids of all ages.

There are seven different zones contained within the park including: New York, The Lost World, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, Hollywood, Far Far Away and Madagascar. Each zone has rides, shows and attractions based on all your favorite movies.

6. Thomas Town (aka. Little Big Club)

Thomas Town is a great place to spend an hour or two with the kids exploring the cartoon world of Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends.

This site is also located in Puteri Bay and while it isn't as grandiose as Legoland or Danga Bay, kids can take a ride on Thomas, meet other children in the various activity stations, play with toy trains, read Thomas books, and enjoy the well-designed scenery inside the building.

7. Little Play Loft

Little Play Loft is another smaller attraction in Johor that makes for a great two-hour visit for the kids and yourself to unwind at.

They've packed tons of fun into a small area, with toys to play with, tricycles to ride, bouncy gyms to let loose on, and tons of interactive activities to get your child's brain engaged. There's also a baby gym that's safe for the toddlers too.

8. Johor Zoo

There are few travel experiences that are more rewarding than watching the glee on your child's face as they get to experience new and exciting local wildlife.

Johor Zoo is one of the oldest in Malaysia and features animals of all shapes and sizes: Gorillas, lions, elephants, flamingos, horses, monkeys, snakes and many other animals indigenous to Malaysia are featured here, with picnic areas and multiple food vendors in and around the zoo area to enjoy.
